Ruperture is a free camera course made by Shamimul Rupok. This page explains what I collect, why I collect it, and what you can do about it.
You don't need an account
All lessons, the quiz and the glossary work without signing in. Without an account, your progress and language choice are saved only in your own browser and are never sent to me.
If you sign in with Google
- From Google: your name, email address and profile picture. I never see your Google password.
- Your answers (all optional): which camera you use, your level, what you want to shoot, whether you plan to buy gear, and your country.
- Your progress: which lessons you finished, your language and your time zone.
I use this to keep your progress on every device, to plan lessons and gear guides that fit learners like you, and to suggest gear that suits your camera and country.
Emails
I only email you if you tick the box or use the cheat sheet form. Emails are sent with MailerLite, and every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also stop emails on your account page.
Payments and affiliate links
Coffee payments are handled by Buy Me a Coffee. I never see your card details. Some gear links in the shop are affiliate links: if you buy through them, the store may use cookies to know the sale came from Ruperture, and I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
Services I use
Cloudflare (website hosting), Google (sign-in), Supabase (account database), MailerLite (email) and Buy Me a Coffee (payments). They handle data for me and may store it outside your country.
What I never do
I don't sell your data, and I don't share your answers with brands. Gear brands only ever see totals, never names or emails.
Your choices
- Change your answers or stop emails on your account page.
- Delete your account there. This removes your profile, answers and synced progress.
- Ask me for a copy of your data, or to correct it.
